FAQ

Pre-sale and customer questions that the UserPro team answers most often.

Pre-sale questions

Can I take payments or subscriptions from my members?

UserPro does not process payments itself. Pair it with WooCommerce or Easy Digital Downloads if you want to charge members for access, and use UserPro for registration, login and profile management.

Do I need BuddyPress or bbPress for UserPro to work?

No. UserPro is standalone and only requires WordPress 3.5 or higher. It also syncs cleanly with BuddyPress if you already have it installed.

Does UserPro hide the WordPress dashboard from members?

Yes. UserPro can hide the dashboard and the WordPress toolbar from every role except admin, so members never see the wp-admin side of your site.

Is UserPro multisite compatible?

Yes. UserPro is tested and supported on WordPress multisite installs running 3.5 or higher.

Customer questions

Can I put the register or login form in a modal or popup?

Yes. Give the modal trigger link one of the classes popup-login or popup-register and UserPro will load the matching form into a modal when the link is clicked.

How do I embed a UserPro shortcode in PHP?

Call WordPress’s do_shortcode() with the UserPro shortcode string. For example: echo do_shortcode('[userpro template=login]');

How can I enable a custom background image on user profiles?

Open UserPro then Customize Fields. Drag the Profile Background and Heading Color fields from the field list to the Edit Profile section and save. Members can then upload a background image from their front-end profile page.

How do I verify users?

Open the Users page in wp-admin. There is a Verified column with a grey button on each row. Click it to verify the user; click it again to revoke. Verified users get a blue badge on their profile card.

How do I view and edit the fields members have completed?

UserPro stores profile fields in the front-end. Admins edit member profiles from the front-end profile page rather than from wp-admin.

How do I show different menu items to logged-in users?

This is not a feature of UserPro. Use a conditional menu plugin (several are free on the WordPress.org repository) or a few lines of template code to branch the menu.

I downloaded from CodeCanyon but it is not the latest version.

Always download from the UserPro item page itself, not your My Downloads listing. Open the item page on CodeCanyon, click the you already own this — download here message, and the latest release appears.

What does the MailChimp integration do?

When members register they are added to the MailChimp list you configure. Only the email field is synced to the subscriber record; other profile fields stay on your site.
